2016 4* PG Jaylen Fisher Decommits from UNLV
2016 4* PG Jaylen Fisher has decided to re-open his commitment and will decommit from UNLV, he announced on Twitter last night. Fisher is a senior out of Bolton High School in Tennessee. Fisher committed to the Runnin' Rebels in early October, but due to "a lot of changes with the program", Fisher decided to re-open his recruitment. UNLV fired Dave Rice in January, who was the coach of UNLV when Fisher committed.. UNLV assistant Ryan Miller, the man who recruited Fisher the hardest, left the program as well. These two changes were the big reasons behind the reasonable decommitment.
Fisher is one of the top point guards in the class and is ranked around the 40's nationally. He is a great scorer, whether that is finishing a layup or shooting the three ball, a great passer with good vision, and a great leader and floor general. He is a good defender, as well. Fisher is ready for college basketball and should get a good amount of minutes as a freshman wherever he ends up.
Fisher will take a visit to TCU this weekend, which is the only visit he has set up thus far. Depending on how the visit goes, TCU should be a serious threat and could likely nab Fisher. However, prior to his commitment to UNLV, Memphis, Indiana and Baylor were all serious contenders for Fisher. As of right now, Memphis and TCU seem the most likely to reel in Fisher, but things can change. The visit to TCU could completely change things, depending on whether it goes good or bad. If the visit goes well for Fisher, TCU will probably be his choice. If the visit does not go as planned, Memphis will likely be the pick.
